How to Tell Your Mother No & Still Live
Participants will learn how to have difficult conversations with your mother. This workshop will also provide tactics to use as well as role playing to further deepen the learning tools.
Thugs Don't Cry (ages 12-18)
Participants will learn how much is too much when it comes to emotions. This workshop will also focus on mainstream stereo-types associated with boys and their feelings.
Help! I'm stressed out (all ages)
Participants will learn the principles of emotional health, including being aware of an in control of their emotions and appropriately managing stress in many different environments.
Manners & Etiquette for Boys (all ages)
Participants will learn proper etiquette & manners for everyday life, restaurant manners & chivalry. Workshop will include skits and hands on activities
Leverage to Win (ages 13-21)
This hands on workshop includes a candid conversation about the key relationships (Mothers, Faith & Friends) boys encounter throughout their lives and ways to use the relationships to excel in life; learn to build a master plan; and asked to Dream, Believe, Act and Achieve success.
Dollars & Cents Understanding Money & How to Use It (ages 10-17)
What is money? What is money worth? What is money used for? Participants will learn money basics including saving, bank accounts and how many works.
I'm About My Business (all ages)
Did you know that every day kids start businesses around the world? Do you have a great idea, talent, skill or hobby that you would like to turn into a business? Working for yourself can be fun, but it is also a lot of work. Participants will learn the the basics of starting their own business.
Dad's Gone to Jail (all ages)
What happens when your dad goes to jail? What are you supposed to feel? What are you supposed to do? Participants will identify strategies for dealing with an incarcerated father.
Who Am I? What Was I Born to Do? (all ages)
Everyone is telling you what you should or should not be. Parents, teachers, coaches, coaches and every other adult. How do you figure our what you were born to do? Participants will discuss how to find out what they were born to do by identifying their strengths and skills.
Lessons I Learned From My Father
Do you know what your sons are up against when their fathers are not active in their lives? Together, participants will explore the importance of the father/father figure in a son's life and how important it is to keep sons connected to their father/father figure.
A Recipe for Life: Who Am I? Finding My Purpose
Participants will be guided through the process of identifying the ingredients they posses within themselves to find, create and fulfill their life's purpose.
Creating Healthy Relationships Inside & Out
Healthy relationships are important for successfully raising healthy sons. Participants will learn how to maintain healthy relationships with themselves, food, their sons, other people' as well as; to manage their own emotions so they can model self control for their sons; and strategies for improving and strengthening current relationships.
Communicating With Your Son
The mother and son bond is a special one. Sons learn a lot from interactions with their mothers; so it is important for mothers to communicate with their sons in an honest and open way. Participants will learn ways to speak with their sons using honesty, trust and respect. Participants will commit to identifying ways they can improve communication with their sons in the days to come.
Moms! Let's Get Our Financial House in Order
Do you struggle with your finances? You may pay your bills every month, but are you prepared for the future? The truth is, sometimes there's only so much money to go around and thinking about preparing for the future can be overwhelming. This workshop will give participants the knowledge and resources to establish building blocks for a strong financial future, no matter their income.
Saving Our Sons: The Impact of Violence & Trauma on Young Males
Trauma and violence disproportionately impacts the lives of boys and young men of color. Consequently, there are often psychological wounds left by violence which leaves boys and their families deeply scarred and experiencing unrelenting stress that can carry over into the adult lives of boys. This workshop will engage mothers in conversations to discuss the impact of violence on boys and young men, strategies for prevention and ways mothers can support their sons impacted by violence.
Behind Bars: Supporting Incarcerated Sons
Experiencing a son's incarceration is one of a mother's worst nightmares. A mother feels helpless and heartbroken. She can be overwhelmed with guilt, regret, anger, anxiety...the list goes on. Participants will hear the personal story of a mother with an incarcerated son, learn how to support an incarcerated son and develop strategies for dealing with the emotions and stress associated with having a son who is behind bars.
Advocating for Your Son in School & in Life
Are you unclear about navigating your child's academic progress? Are you uneasy about contacting school staff? Does school jargon confuse you? Learn how to speak up to help your child succeed academically, socially and vocationally.
